Clubs, hearts, spades and diamonds have traditionally been used in narrowboat decoration for years, and this pattern, inspired by a length of lace crocheted by Jane Holmes and displayed in the 'Cape of Good Hope' pub, was designed by the late Janet Reeves and can be found in her second book of 'Cabin Crochet of the Inland Waterways.
